Literacy skills open students’ doors to the world.
July 2-12 or July 29- August 9
9:45 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Literacy skills are essential for effective communication in today’s fast-paced world. For many students, reading and writing can pose challenges and create fear. Our strengths-based program tackles that fear by filling in gaps and building strong foundational skills.
We strengthen each student’s confidence and ability through an individualized learning plan that targets the building blocks of literacy: phonemic awareness, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, fluency, and comprehension.
This program includes an initial assessment that highlights strengths and areas of need, as well as a post-assessment to measure progress and generate recommendations for next steps in each student’s literacy journey. Our goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence required to be successful readers and writers.
All programming takes place at Calgary Academy.
Each summer program takes place in 20-hour blocks of instruction, split over 9 days. The cost of this two-week program is $1,800. Tuition is due prior to the first day of instruction. We accept cash, cheque, electronic funds transfer (EFT) and all major credit cards through our payment processor Plastiq. For payment information, click here.
