Marketing Coordinator


About the Role

The Marketing Coordinator role supports the development of marketing strategies that drive business objectives, positively impact employee engagement, and strengthen the Calgary Academy, Headwater Learning Foundation and Headwater Learning Solutions brands. This highly collaborative role will work within the Advancement department to manage and grow the brands of both Calgary Academy and Headwater Learning. From managing daily social media to coordinating an annual recruitment and marketing campaign, this role will be busy working across print and digital platforms to advance our organization’s ambitious goals.

Highlights of Key Responsibilities:

  • Support social media efforts including content creation, posts, managing comments, and tracking photography consents
  • Support development of marketing strategies for projects including writing, proofing, and production of internal and external publications including for our websites and social media
  • Update content in a variety of print and digital mediums, including business cards, posters, procedures and other internal documents
  • Collaborate with the Creative Designer to ensure marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Provide administrative support for the Advancement office, such as scheduling advertising, booking meetings, and coordinating quotes and invoices
  • Support content development for a variety of mediums including print, non-print, multimedia and blogs
  • Provide key support to the coordination of major stakeholder engagement events
  • Maintain and grow content on internal and external websites


  • Degree or diploma in Marketing or a related accredited program
  • Minimum 2 years of Graphic Design experience and/or Administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, WordPress and Google Analytics
  • Basic graphic design, photo editing and layout experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and prioritize
  • Ability to take direction and accept feedback
  • Flexibility in managing a challenging and dynamic workload
  • Portfolio of work representing 1-2 years of experience showcasing a variety of projects (print, digital, web, multimedia)
  • Ability to accurately estimate project timelines and execute deliverables on time
  • Experience purchasing and measuring the effectiveness of online advertising on platforms such as Facebook and Google
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of large format print and production is an asset
